Peer-based conservation learning cohorts are a free opportunity for beginning, first generation, military veterans, and other historically underserved farmers and ranchers in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
Over six months (August 2026 to February 2027), three small cohorts will learn from one another and build valuable skills and knowledge on:

The curriculum will be shaped by your needs and experiences. Your cohort leaders will be Loran Steinlage, Dan and Rosie Sanderson, and Dave Haubein -- farmers recognized by the Leopold Conservation Award for exemplary stewardship and innovation.
Participants are eligible for $250-$500 microgrants to support their own conservation or regenerative agriculture efforts.
