Pollinator Habitat Grants

Insect pollinators are essential for food production and ecological diversity, but their populations are at risk. Sand County Foundation's Pollinator Grants program is giving students hands-on experience growing and planting pollinator-friendly habitat while learning about conservation careers.

Are you a school educator looking for a hands-on pollinator habitat project for your students?

We will soon accept applications for grants for the 2024-2025 school year for educators in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Sand County Foundation will invite your proposal to engage your students in growing native forbs (wildflower plants) indoors and planting them on a prepared site.

We will now offer two tiers of grant opportunities:

Tier One for all ages, and Tier Two for high school students. See details below.
